ATTACHMENT
Children with secure attachment know they always have a secure and stable base. They can explore with a safe haven to return to for emotional refuelling when needed. If they've had a difficult time, they will be received with connection, validation and emotional responsiveness to all emotions- happy, sad, and angry. This promotes regulation, reduces stress and anxiety, and halts fight, flight and freeze responses. This video from Sprout Schools explains the different styles of attachment and, importantly- how they impact on children's behaviour https://ow.ly/VE6Z50PMMvr
