Practitioners need to understand how young children's brains are shaped by their early experiences and how they can respond to and support children who have experienced trauma. This training provides an overview of the impact of trauma, looking at traumas of omission (infants missing out on sufficient relational experiences) and traumas of commission (infants experiencing trauma such as separation, violence etc.). Without intervention, these can adversely affect the infant’s emotional, cognitive, and social development and long term physical and mental health so it provides practical ways in which you can respond to help and support the young children in your care.

"The content was thought provoking for both work and life in general. It was great to find out more of the neuro science behind childhood development and also to discover the repair possibilities! A fantastic array of reading and links to resources where given. In a nut shell wow. I hope more people get the chance to learn this useful information."
