TISCUK TRAUMA AND MENTAL HEALTH INFORMED SCHOOLS AND ORGANISATIONS AWARDS

These awards are designed to enable schools to demonstrate that they have fully embedded Trauma Informed Practice across their setting. There are 2 levels of Award:

  • Mentally Healthy Schools and Organisations
  • Trauma and Mental Health Informed Schools and Organisations

Both awards require applicants to demonstrate the implementation of the following principles: Protect, Relate, Regulate and Reflect.

In addition, applicants for the Trauma and Mental Health Informed Award must have completed the following TISCUK staff training:

  • TISCUK Whole Staff Training (3 or 6 hours)
  • At least 1 member of the senior leadership team must attend the 2 day TISCUK Senior Lead Training. This is usually the Headteacher.
  • The school or organisation must have at least one TISCUK Practitioner who has completed the TISCUK Level 5 Diploma in Trauma and Mental Health Informed Schools and Communities. If this is the Headteacher or Deputy Head, there is no requirement for the setting to have attended the Senior Lead Training.

Applicants must also demonstrate the use of emotionally available adults to support children who have experienced trauma and painful life events.

About the Awards:

The awards are presented jointly by The Centre for Child Mental Health and Trauma Informed Schools & Communities UK.  Successful applicants will receive a plaque for their setting, and all award-winning schools and organisations are celebrated and listed on our website.

Cost:

  • Up to 1000 pupils/students:  £1,565.00 (no VAT).
  • Over 1000 pupils/students:  £1,995.00 (no VAT).

Note: costs are based on 1 site location.  If a school/organisation is located over multiple sites, all sites will need to be visited to be included in the assessment. This may incur additional cost so please let us know on application if you have more than one site.

We endeavour to assign locally based Consultants. However in exceptional circumstances where this is not possible, schools/settings may be required to make an additional contribution towards Consultant travel expenses. This will be discussed when arranging a site visit.

Application Information and Assessment Process:

  • If your application is successful, you will receive an invoice for the Awards fee.  Upon payment, a visit to your setting will be arranged.
  • Within two weeks of the visit, we will write to you with a copy of the report.
