Ysgol Glan Gele is a 300+ pupil Infant school situated on the North Wales coast at Abergele in the county of Conwy. The catchment the school serves is mixed and many of our pupil and families face challenge in their daily lives. The area the school serves is recognised as deprived in the  Welsh Government Indices of Multiple deprivation. Our FSM entitlement is much higher than the Welsh and UK average.  We are an inclusive school and hold the IQM Centre of Excellence accreditation.  As a Welsh Foundation Phase school we use our outdoors extensively and deliver Forest and Beach Schools on a weekly basis to our pupils. We believe in ensuring that every child is given the opportunity to feel safe in school and to reach their true potential.  Our mission statement is ‘Happy and secure as we all learn together.’ Pupil wellbeing is central to our work and we are looking forward to the introduction of the New Curriculum for Wales in 2022 which gives the highest priority to health and wellbeing. The school has a supportive parent body and Board of Governors who work in partnership with staff to ensure the education our pupils receive is of the highest standard.
